Free · No sign-up · Never expires

Wi-Fi QR code generator.

Guests point their camera at the code and they're online. No spelling out the password, and no sticky note behind the till. Type your network name and password below, then print it.

What should the code open?
Dark colours on white scan best.

Your code appears here as you type.

Made in your browser: nothing you type is sent to Qrunto. The code holds its content itself, so it never expires.

How guests use it

  1. They open the camera on their phone and point it at the code.
  2. A "Join network" button appears. On iPhone it's a yellow banner, on Android it's usually a pop-up or a Google Lens result.
  3. They tap it and they're connected. They never see or type the password.

The iPhone camera has read Wi-Fi codes since iOS 11 (2017). Most Android phones read them in the camera app or Google Lens.

Where to find your network name and password

Look on the sticker on your router, usually labelled SSID (the network name) and key or password. If you've changed them, check your router's app or ask whoever set it up. The name is case-sensitive: "Cafe Guest" and "cafe guest" are different networks.

Not sure about security? Almost every network today uses WPA, WPA2 or WPA3, which is the default above. Choose None only if guests can join without a password.

Tips for cafés, salons and shops

  • Use a guest network. Most routers can run a separate guest network, which keeps customers away from your card machine and office computers.
  • Put it where people wait: on table tents, by the counter, in the waiting area, or on the back of the menu.
  • Add a line of text such as "Scan for free Wi-Fi" next to the code, so people know what it does before they scan.
  • Changing the password means a new code. The password is stored inside the code. If you change it often, use an editable Wi-Fi code in the Qrunto app: it opens a page with the network and a copy button, and you can update the password without reprinting.

Questions

Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?

No. The code is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to Qrunto or anyone else. Remember that anyone who scans the printed code can join your network, so print it only where you're happy for people to use it.

Why doesn't the code connect?

Usually the network name or password has a typo or the wrong capital letters. Check the security type too: WEP and WPA codes aren't interchangeable. If the network is hidden, tick "The network is hidden".

Does it work on laptops?

Wi-Fi codes are read by phone and tablet cameras. Laptops don't usually have a way to scan them, so keep the password handy for those.

Does the code expire?

No. It keeps working for as long as your network name and password stay the same.
