WhatsApp QR code generator.
One scan opens a WhatsApp chat with you, with a message already typed, like "I'd like to book a table". Customers just tap send. Works with WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business.
Your code appears here as you type.
Made in your browser: nothing you type is sent to Qrunto. The code holds its content itself, so it never expires.
How it works
The code holds a wa.me link, WhatsApp's official click-to-chat address. When someone scans it, WhatsApp opens a chat with your number. If you added a message, it's already typed in the box. They don't need to save your number first.
Getting the number right
- Use the number your WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business account is registered to.
- Start with the country code: +1 for the US and Canada, +44 for the UK. A UK number starting with 0, like 07911 123456, is converted for you.
- Spaces, brackets and dashes are fine. They're removed automatically.
- Scan the code yourself from another phone before printing, to check the right chat opens.
Message ideas
| Business | Message already typed |
|---|---|
| Restaurant | Hi! I'd like to book a table for __ people on __. |
| Takeaway | Hi! I'd like to place an order for collection. |
| Salon or barber | Hi! Do you have any appointments free this week? |
| Clinic | Hello, I'd like to book an appointment. |
| Shop | Hi! Is this item still in stock? |
Where to put it
On your shop window for out-of-hours enquiries, on receipts and takeaway bags for reorders, on business cards and flyers, and next to the till so customers can save you for next time.
Questions
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The wa.me link works the same for personal and WhatsApp Business accounts.
Will customers see my phone number?
Yes. The chat opens with your number, the same as if they'd typed it in. Use your business number, not a personal one.
Can I change the message later?
Not on a printed static code: the message is inside the code. An editable WhatsApp code in the Qrunto app lets you change the number or message without reprinting.
What if someone scans it without WhatsApp?
The link opens WhatsApp's website, which asks them to download the app or use WhatsApp Web.
A menu customers can order from, straight to your WhatsApp.
Qrunto turns a photo of your menu into a live menu. Customers pick dishes and send the order to your WhatsApp, with no app to install. Coming soon to iPhone and Android.
